Description

Grinch Oreo Balls are festive treats that combine the classic, crumbly Oreo cookies with a creamy center, dipped in a vibrant Grinch-green coating. Perfect for holiday gatherings, these playful and cheerful sweets bring a touch of whimsy to your dessert table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14.3-ounce) package Oreo cookies
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 12 ounces white chocolate or white candy melts
  • Green food coloring
  • Optional: Red heart sprinkles for decoration (to make them extra “Grinchy”)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs. No food processor? Put them in a large zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  2. Combine with Cream Cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the crumbs and mix until well combined and a dough-like texture forms.
  3. Roll Into Balls: Scoop out small portions (about 1 tablespoon each) and roll into smooth balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate or freeze the balls for 15–20 minutes to firm them up. (This makes dipping much easier!)
  5. Melt & Color the Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 20–30 second intervals and stirring between each. Add green food coloring until you achieve that perfect Grinch green.
  6. Dip: Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the green chocolate, letting excess drip off. Place back onto the parchment.
  7. Add Decoration: Place a small red heart sprinkle on top before the coating sets — optional but adorable!
  8. Let Set & Serve: Allow the chocolate coating to harden (pop them in the fridge for faster results). Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Notes

  • Freeze the Oreo balls for even longer if your kitchen is warm, as this will ensure the chocolate melts don’t soften them as you dip.
  • For variety, use mint-flavored Oreos for a refreshing twist, or add peppermint extract to the cream cheese mixture.
  • If your green chocolate begins to harden while dipping, reheat it in the microwave for an additional 20 seconds.
