- 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
- 1/2 lb (225 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 lb (225 g) smoked sausage, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced sausage and cook for 3–4 minutes until slightly browned.
- Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Remove and set aside with the sausage.
- Add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the chopped cabbage, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5–7 minutes until cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
- Return the sausage and shrimp to the skillet.
- Toss everything together and cook 1–2 minutes more to combine flavors.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot as a main dish or alongside rice or potatoes.
Notes
- Use green cabbage for a traditional flavor; Napa cabbage gives a sweeter, softer result.
- For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
- Serve immediately — leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 2–3 days.
