Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1/2 lb (225 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb (225 g) smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced sausage and cook for 3–4 minutes until slightly browned.
  3. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  5. Remove and set aside with the sausage.
  6. Add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet.
  7. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  8. Add the chopped cabbage, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  9. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5–7 minutes until cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
  10. Return the sausage and shrimp to the skillet.
  11. Toss everything together and cook 1–2 minutes more to combine flavors.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot as a main dish or alongside rice or potatoes.

Notes

  • Use green cabbage for a traditional flavor; Napa cabbage gives a sweeter, softer result.
  • For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
  • Serve immediately — leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 2–3 days.
